Construction of a unique pharmaceutical production complex started in the Ryazan region

A solemn ceremony dedicated to the start of construction of the innovative pharmaceutical facility of OCTAPHARMA-PHARMIMEX LLC for the production of substances and blood plasma preparations took place in the Skopinsky district there was.

The solemn ceremony of symbolic laying of the first stone was attended by Andrew Smith, the General Director of OCTAPHARMA-PHARMIMEX LLC, heads of relevant ministries of the region, the Corporation of Ryazan Region Development, the Administration of Skopinsky district, JSC Pharmimex.

On behalf of the Governor Pavel Malkov the ceremony was welcomed by the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Ryazan region Valentin Zavalev. He stressed that the launch of the new facility will make a great contribution to solving the problems of import substitution, will strengthen the potential of the pharmaceutical industry of the region and the country as a whole. "The project is implemented under a special investment contract. It is given increased attention from the federal center and from the Ryazan region. We will support its implementation at all stages in close cooperation with all participants of this process", - said Valentin Zavalev.

The General Director of OCTAPHARMA-PHARMIMEX LLC Andrew Smith thanked the Governor and the Government of the Ryazan region for the support in the implementation of the project. He also thanked the Corporation of Ryazan Region Development, Skopinsky District Administration that provide all necessary assistance in the construction of the production complex, and Ryazan State Medical University for cooperation in training future staff for the company. "This project will make a tangible contribution to the development of Skopinsky District, Ryazan Region and the Russian Federation as a whole. We believe that collection of plasma from local donors and its subsequent use as raw material for production will make our medicines more affordable for Russian patients," said Andrew Smith. - The launch of the OCTAPHARMA-PHARMIMEX LLC facility will enable us to use the most advanced technologies for production of blood plasma products in the Russian Federation. Our project will create hundreds of jobs and improve social infrastructure in the region."

During the ceremony a model of the future facility was presented. With an area of 32,000 square meters, the production facilities will include areas for plasma fractionation, cleaning and bottling areas, a warehouse for storing plasma, raw materials and finished products, a laboratory complex consisting of analytical, microbiological and input control laboratories, an administrative complex, auxiliary, engineering and technical facilities. The production complex will be equipped with the latest high-tech equipment. The volume of investments will be over 5 billion rubles.

The tentative date of commissioning of the new facility is 2026.
